Aims and Objectives
The Manual Handling Operations regulations 1992 place a legal duty on all employers to avoid carrying out manual handling operations. If this
is not possible, a risk assessment of the operation must be carried out.
This course is to provide employees involved in manual handling activities within the workplace with the knowledge and skills to be able to
assess the risks from these activities.
Course Content
- Background to the law and statutory duties concerning manual handling.
- Anatomy of the spine and the results of poor manual handling techniques on the body.
- Safe manual Handling techniques.
- Hazard identification and risk evaluation.
- Assessment methodology.
- Applying control measures and ergonomics.
- Manual Handling Assessment exercise.
- Records and documentation.
Certification
All delegates who complete this course will be awarded the:
- Health and Safety: Manual Handling Assessment Certificate of Attendance and Achievement
