Aims and Objectives
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 place a legal duty on all employers to ensure that their employees are adequately trained
to perform any manual aspects of their work duties safely.
This course will give participants a basic understanding of the factors necessary to ensure their own safety when undertaking manual
handling tasks.
The course is based upon the principles of safe moving and handling of loads known as the kinetic approach to manual handling.
Course Content
- Employer and Employees' responsibilities.
- What areas of the body are affected by incorrect lifting techniques.
- Structures of the spine including examples of injuries.
- Suitability of lifting equipment aids.
- Practical lifting tasks.
- Analysing different lifting techniques.
Certification
All delegates who complete this course will be awarded the:
- Health and Safety: Manual Handling Awareness Certificate of Attendance and Achievement
